Then you can set your real name and in the end press "Save Edits". Go to the start page of the launcher (house symbol) and on top right, you should see your steam name, click on it. Most leagues in rFactor 2 require your real name. You can find all available settings in 'Singleplayer' > 'Options'. You can tweak most, but not all, of the settings during a session (whilst in the garage).

If that doesn't solve the problem, delete the corresponding files in ".\SteamApps\common\rFactor 2\Packages" & ".\SteamApps\common\rFactor 2\Installed". If a mod causes a problem, try to uninstall/delete it first. Not all mods have to be installed, some are automatically downloaded when you join a server. For all other mods, you will have to manually check if they have been installed - if not, mark them and click install, on the bottom left. And before you ask, we intend to make a few changes to this whole mechanism as we start introducing our new UI, so some of these things will change in the upcoming months. If you downloaded your mod through Steam Workshop, it is very likely that it will be installed automatically. There is no need to wipe or re-install anything. If you ever want to reverse that, use a parameter called "+workshop". If you do that, as soon as you start the Launcher, it will unsubscribe you from that content and will not resubscribe you on subsequent runs. The most effective way of unsubscribing from that ISI content is to add a command line parameter to the launcher called: "-workshop" (without the quotes, but with the minus sign in front). Most of our recent content updates are now added by "Studio 397" so you already explicitly need to subscribe to those to get that content. The only content that you are automatically subscribed to, is content that is added to the workshop by "ImageSpaceIncorporated". So, Jackson I can give you a definitive answer but it is slightly more complicated than a simple yes or no.
